multi-talented individual. Over the years she’s played a variety of sports, like volleyball, tennis, track, gymnastics, and ultimate. Off the field, Kamila is a skilled knitter and crocheter, and she has a knack for playing the guitar. Her most notable instrumental accomplishment was memorizing all of “Married Life” from the movie UP. Kamila also has a soft spot for dogs, spending time dog-sitting, fostering, and volunteering at dog shelters. She studies Nursing and Healthcare Management, embodying her commitment to making a positive impact on the healthcare industry and beyond. We are so thankful to have her wonderful self in DXA! https://images.squarespace-cdn.com/content/v1/57a74842e4fcb59aefff9be9/f44a530b-169c-4ce3-b929-e61419814acc/DSC01189.JPG Members - Amrita Balajee | Music Director + DEI Chair Meet the queen from Pittsburgh Amrita “Rita” Balajee! This multitalented newb is the embodiment of all things music. She grew up learning Hindustani Classical Music, was the president of her high school choir, releases her own music (stream on Spotify!!), and is now a Dischord member. Although she’s the most musically talented, she’s also super involved outside of music, from handling the pre-med track to rowing. If you see someone with flowing gorgeous hair walking through campus, chances are, it’s Amrita. And once you see her, make sure you ask about her about her dog Minnie :) https://images.squarespace-cdn.com/content/v1/57a74842e4fcb59aefff9be9/aa6d5a48-651b-4f20-b542-ac25964a6331/DSC01200.JPG Members - Julian Caesar | Vice President From the greatest part of Philly (West Philly), Julian Caesar is an inspiration to everyone he meets. From the age of 3, Julian started his music career by writing a song about Thomas the Tank Engine. In high school, his friends recognized his talent and pushed him into musical theatre, where he flourished and even wrote a musical about COVID-19. He’s a fan of artists like Bruno Mars, Harry Styles, SZA, Frank Ocean, and The Weeknd. In his free time, Julian loves to crush his friends in video games and scare them with horror movies. He’s an extremely talented individual and he’s extremely happy to be a part of Dischord. Shoutout to all Philly sports teams:) https://images.squarespace-cdn.com/content/v1/57a74842e4fcb59aefff9be9/99b05125-58d2-4aad-bd0e-40d640d24684/DSC01268.JPG Members - Pedro Aguilar | Co-Assistant MD From the lively streets of Mexico City, Mexico, comes Pedro, a math major and city lover with a musician’s heart and a piano always within reach. As one of Dischord’s aspiring tenors, he brings both precision and passion to every performance. On campus, Pedro wears many hats: he is an RA for Butcher, an ambassador for the College, a member of the karate club, and a friendly face everyone seems to know. When he’s not making music or solving equations, you’ll probably find him watching a good horror movie, exploring the city, or admiring architecture on long walks, since he has an eye for beautiful skylines. A fun fact: Pedro once had a duck named Athena, who he loves to talk about. We’re so lucky to have Pedro’s warmth, wit, and musical genius in Dischord! https://images.squarespace-cdn.com/content/v1/57a74842e4fcb59aefff9be9/34fe93b4-01a5-4730-bdfe-aaf37dbf53a7/DSC01239.JPG Members - Raima Srivastava | Co-Assistant MD Raised in Princeton, New Jersey, Raima decided to leave her hometown behind for the better Ivy League school. Still proudly repping the Garden State, the freshman Economics major insists life back home wasn’t anything like Jersey Shore—though I’m not totally convinced. The alto is a seasoned performer who toured internationally with her high school chorus and band, wowing audiences from Puerto Rico to Portugal. In fact, Raima has even had the opportunity to record at Abbey Road! Her playlist features Frank Ocean, Billie Eillish, and Olivia Dean, and when she's not deep into a good book, you can find her watching terrible horror movies, hiking new trails, or tuning into podcasts. Dischord is extremely excited to welcome Raima to the group and cannot wait to have her perform! https://images.squarespace-cdn.com/content/v1/57a74842e4fcb59aefff9be9/d6636cbd-fd77-445c-97ba-f8c560e81e45/DSC01295.JPG Members - Ryan Rodriguez | Business Manager From the small town of New Fairfield, Connecticut, Ryan is a tenor who blesses everyone with his insane belts and smooth tone. When he’s not serving shuttlecocks on the badminton court, he’s serving the community through Leo Clubs or baking up a fresh batch of cookies and cupcakes. A PPE major and a nerd for games like Dominoes and GeoGuessr, Ryan starts his mornings with a true crime podcast and ends them humming to Bad Bunny, Daniel Caesar, or The Weeknd. With his love for biking, Italian and Puerto Rican food, and connecting with people (yes, even through LinkedIn mini games), Ryan brings equal parts kindness and talent to everything he does. We are so happy to have him in Dischord!! https://images.squarespace-cdn.com/content/v1/57a74842e4fcb59aefff9be9/17be972a-c3da-4d71-8ccd-d2768eecd616/DSC01182.JPG Members - Jonathan Viola | Social Chair Meet Jonathan! A freshman from Philadelphia on the pre-med track and Dischord’s newest power bass. When he’s not anchoring our harmonies, you can find him volunteering at CHOP, feeding his fascination for horror films, or playing Valorant. A retired taekwondo master and most enthusiastic pasta lover, Jonathan brings all in one: calm, chaos, and charisma to the group. Dischord couldn’t be happier to have him aboard! https://images.squarespace-cdn.com/content/v1/57a74842e4fcb59aefff9be9/8eba13d7-c167-4240-9f77-7e1b7300cc83/DSC01225.JPG Members - Harper Simpson | Publicity Manager Hailing from the Big Apple, Harper is our resident board game aficionado. Be careful if you challenge her—she's been known to crush her friends and family at both Clue and Ticket to Ride. A city girl at heart who has lived in both New York and London, Harper can often be found making vibrant photo collages, eating Trader Joe's peanut butter cups, and playing sports! She's an incredibly talented vocalist and seasoned soprano (check out her high school a cappella group, the Brearly-B-Naturals, on Spotify!), but beyond her music, Harper has lately loved doing the New York Times mini crossword and learning to play bar chords on the guitar. We are so happy to have this multi-talented, kindhearted soul with us on Dischord! https://images.squarespace-cdn.com/content/v1/57a74842e4fcb59aefff9be9/e5eb24c3-3027-49c6-9108-627d3b201fdc/DSC01242.JPG Members - Mihir Mishra Despite growing up in Seattle, Mihir joins the Dischord family from sunny San Diego. An avid vegetarian, you’ll often find him trekking to Trader Joe’s for rolled lentil chips, cooking full meals in his Instant Pot, or convincing friends to try Commons’ Vegan Satay. Though he’s been vegetarian only since 7th grade, he’s been singing his whole life. Trained in Indian classical music and raised on Ariana Grande and Boygenius, this neuroscience major is active across the music scene — from vocal lessons to Penn Sargam. His artistic talents extend beyond Dischord: Mihir paints, plays ukulele, and can deliver a show-stopping rendition of Liv and Maddie’s “Froyo Yolo” at Kiwi. We’re so lucky to have him in the group. https://images.squarespace-cdn.com/content/v1/57a74842e4fcb59aefff9be9/c03c4143-c68a-457b-b1b6-0b89db8e90c6/E1_02323.jpg Members - Ritha Igout Ritha Igout, originally from Casablanca and Marrakech in Morocco, is a beautiful and talented individual who rocks a fantastic sense of fashion and a unique, mesmerizing voice. She loves to listen to Arctic Monkeys (the best band ever), Tayc, Maluma, and many more artists that represent her extensive music taste. You can catch her around campus with a good iced matcha latte, probably humming a tune from the Disney movie, “The Hunchback of Notre Dame.” Aside from her wonderful music taste and genius brain (she’s at penn, she’s a genius), she has the most free-spirited and fun-loving personality. We are so lucky and proud to sing with Ritha in Dischord!! https://images.squarespace-cdn.com/content/v1/57a74842e4fcb59aefff9be9/6e27ef15-370e-4e20-8bc1-d5bf2f706396/DSC01221.JPG Members - Takunda Magadaire Originally from Zimbabwe, Takunda is a talented tenor (and sometimes alto!) with a love for music. Specifically, he loves artists like Faouzia, Zayn, James Arthur, Nyasha David, Nashie Zim, Mehro and Olivia Rodrigo. In addition, he loves listening to Bollywood music, and his favorite artist is Arijit Singh, showing the wide range of his music taste. On top of studying Computer Engineering, he has many hobbies, from listening to audiobooks to playing volleyball. He is an avid archer and participated in the sport competitively during high school. His incredible voice and joyful spirit bring so much to Dischord, and we are so lucky to have him! https://images.squarespace-cdn.com/content/v1/57a74842e4fcb59aefff9be9/3a50132f-3035-4bae-8881-bcf8c71b7876/DSC01205.JPG Members - Paul Ku Hailing from Cincinnati, Ohio, Paul Ku has had music at the center of his life for as long as he can remember. He picked up the violin at the age of 6 and has loved it ever since, but his voice has been working overtime too. Paul has unofficially been singing his whole life, whether he’s at home or powering through his work (if you hear someone humming in the library, chances are it’s Paul). Now he brings a rare kind of range to Dischord as a bass/tenor double, anchoring the low end one song and soaring up top the next. He’s also an arrangement king in the making, with an ear for how every part fits together, so keep an eye out for his name on future setlists. Off the risers, he’s a proud friend of the campus squirrels and dreams of the day he can feed them, so if you spot him eyeing one on Locust Walk, you know why. We’re so lucky to have his versatility, voice, and musical ear in Dischord! https://images.squarespace-cdn.com/content/v1/57a74842e4fcb59aefff9be9/6dd2453a-5030-4f87-ac37-fa79505048c0/DSC01244.JPG Members - Nikhil McGowan From the outskirts of Los Angeles in Tarzana, California, Dischord is honored to have multitalented Nikhil as a part of the family. From producing and writing songs to recreational filmmaking, Nikhil holds much love for the arts shown all across campus through Songwriters Collective and Bloomers Band. Musically, Nikhil´s inspired by indie rock artists including Backseat Lovers and Dominic Fike while staying true to his white girl pop with Sabrina Carpenter and Lizzy McAlpine! Beyond music, Nikhil plays tennis and likes to watch football (GO EAGLES!), is a black belt, and loves to celebrate holidays from both parts of his Irish and Indian culture. His taste is impeccable with La La Land and Lego Batman as his favorite films and birria tacos, Icees, and shirley temples as his go to munches. All this to say, Dischord is beyond grateful for both the life and talent Nikhil always brings. https://images.squarespace-cdn.com/content/v1/57a74842e4fcb59aefff9be9/3d486cce-5bb1-4ff5-894e-73229e375708/DSC01210.JPG Members - Ryan Dong Though he says he’s from Chicago, Ryan is more accurately from the Chicago suburbs. Ryan, a sophomore studying economics, has joined Dischord as a bass! He’s always been musical, playing a variety of instruments like saxophone, flute, oboe, and violin. However, he has decided to take his talents to the throat — singing (and whistling! supposedly he’s crazy at it) He loves playing poker and following the NBA, although his own basketball playing skills are questionable. However, his volleyball skills are far from questionable, as he is a setter on Penn’s Club Volleyball team! Maybe because of this volleyball superiority complex, he believes he is the tallest Dischord member. Unfortunately for Ryan, this is not true, as Mihir is a whole inch taller than him. Despite being shorter than Mihir, Ryan is a cool dude, and Dischord is so lucky to have his hilarious personality and his angelic voice. https://images.squarespace-cdn.com/content/v1/57a74842e4fcb59aefff9be9/c5cf4095-b531-4f9c-abdd-12b65666cf58/DSC01228.JPG Members - Jennifer Tejawijaya Coming from the Big C—Centennial, Colorado, just outside the Mile High City—meet Dischord's newest multitalented member, Jennifer! A member of Penn's Class of 2030, she's pursuing a Spanish target through the Huntsman Program. As if her academics weren't enough to keep her busy, she's also involved in WAX and Penn's Indonesian Club! Although she's never formally trained as a singer, she's no stranger to music, having played the violin for nine years. With Daniel Caesar and CHANPAN among her favorite artists, she brings an eclectic taste in music to Dischord. When she's not juggling classes, clubs, and rehearsals, you can probably find her folding intricate origami creations or rewatching Modern Family for the sixth time. In fact, she's watched the entire series five times and even uses it as her go-to study companion! Whether she's hitting the books with the Dunphys or bringing her musical talents to the stage, we're so excited to welcome her to the Dischord family! https://images.squarespace-cdn.com/content/v1/57a74842e4fcb59aefff9be9/e07df5e2-e0e0-466f-8ae8-515706694424/DSC01255.JPG Members - Ananya Yadati Coming from Cleveland, Ohio, Ananya is a big art enthusiast. Her favorite genre of music is fittingly R&B as a member of Dischord, with some of her favorite artists being Cleo Sol and Erykah Badu. Beyond blessing everyone's ears with wonderful riffs and runs in every song she covers, she also loves to play piano. However, her artistry does not stop at music; Ananya is a proud member of the 34th Street arts and culture magazine of the Daily Pennsylvanian as well. If you want a chance to meet rising acapella sensation Ananya Yadati, take your shots in center city where you'll likely find her trying new restaurants and cafés. Dischord is so happy to welcome her to the group! https://images.squarespace-cdn.com/content/v1/57a74842e4fcb59aefff9be9/a88213f6-d9fd-48e9-90be-0487273252a7/DSC01302.JPG Members - Jaylon Ma Hailing from Houston, Texas, Jaylon is Dischord’s brilliant Beatboxer! His love for beatboxing began back in 6th grade when he discovered Swissbeatbox battles on YouTube and decided to share his talents while performing with his aca-family, Dischord. Need some advice on anything Econ related, he is also your guy. And when he is not studying Econ or dropping beats, he is probably also running and rock climbing somewhere. Now, for the part you probably have been waiting for: The Neighborhood, Lana Del Ray, Arctic Monkeys and Young Nudy are among the artists Jaylon enjoys listening to. We are so so so so so lucky to have Jaylon as a part of Dischord!!! https://images.squarespace-cdn.com/content/v1/57a74842e4fcb59aefff9be9/aab24ced-0e81-4e8b-a60e-6d217be8b8ab/DSC01338.JPG Members - Join Our Family!
